I have heard them in real life. Blue angels flying in them and they sound exactly like that but they are enormously loud but only if they are approx mile away from you. You won't hear them if they are going fast and they are showing up behind the skyscraper or other high buildings. You will hear them after they disappear from your sight. It's like that even before passing the sound barrier

It is a beast, always one of my favorites! Tigercat is super sexy and sleek! Bearcat holds record from wheels locked to 10,000 ft as he said in 94 seconds. I hear wheels off the runway in 130 ft. Prop moves so much air it actually helps lift the plane! 6500 ft per min. if I remember right. Saw one fire up next to P 51B, Mustang caused papers, hats to fly! Bearcat fires, the damn steel chairs went flying, wish I would have got that on video! They played tag for 20 minutes, Bearcat pulled away easily, like cat and mouse, very impressive! Although I have heard nothing could touch a late model P 47 at 20,000 ft.
